The Blurb:  On a humanitarian mission to the war-torn planet Jesel, Dr. Lara Simmons is used to dealing with lack of supplies, power outages and the constant earthquakes that afflict the planet. But when she's captured by the rebels who need her to perform a life-saving surgery, she finds herself in a situation her medical training didn't prepare her for.

When the airship is blown out of the sky, she ends up in the Jeselian wilderness with no one to rely on but Blade Vengeance, an enormous tattooed rebel warrior. Dominant and unyielding, he doesn't hesitate to take her in hand when she disobeys the rules he lays out for her. Yet she soon learns he also knows how to deliver pleasure--with a passion she's never before experienced.

Blade finds the doctor from Earth sexy as hell, especially when she's giving him attitude, but once he delivers her to headquarters, he tries to pull back from her allure. Known for single-handedly starting the revolution and freeing many of his people, his life is one of hardship, slavery and war. Going soft on a woman isn't part of his plan, especially with the final strike of the revolution so close. But when he sends Lara back to Earth to keep her safe during the upcoming battle, he inadvertently delivers her into enemy hands. Can he find and save her from the revolution he caused?

Publishers Note: This story contains spanking and explicit sex scenes. If such subject matter offends, do not buy this book.

My Review

                      3 Spanking Stars

Good God in Heaven this book has a ton of spanking in it. Hard core spanking. I thought the book was a pretty good read. Thought the Story plot was good, easy to follow. I liked Lara and Blade both equally. I felt they had great chemistry together. Loved the Rebel uprising theme. Lara was smart, sweet, and strong willed. Blade was dominant, super kick ass, but he had a sweet side. I really only had one problem with the book that I just didn't really care for. That was the amount of spankings in this book, severity, and reasons behind the spanking.

See I am totally okay with consensual spankings for pleasure. I have read a lot of books with consensual spanking, caning, whipping, belting, and other forms of BDSM, but that was in a trusting relationship with both parties agreeing and with a safe word. In this book on Blade's planet, husbands punish their wives. See I have a problem with that. All through the book Blade spanks Lara as a punishment and not just 5, 10, or even 20 swats. He does over 30 each time. And he was spanking her a lot in this book. Like every time she turned around. Within the first hour of Kidnapping Lara, he just grabs her up and spanks her for trying to run from him. Hello you kidnapped her of course she is gonna run!! Almost every time he spanks her she begs him to stop and he just keeps spanking her. He uses his hand, belt, and canes her. I don't feel like that is BDSM I felt it was skirting the line of abuse, for me anyways. Don't get me wrong there was some consensual spanking for pleasure, later in the book ,when they got together as a couple, and that part was pretty damn hot. Putting the spanking/punishment part aside this book was a cute quick read with a very sweet HEA. I would read more books from this author and I kinda hope she writes a book for Lara's friend Dasha.
